I don't think I know anyone who enjoys killing spiders or insects or rodents or any other critters that most consider creepy. I will do it, if need be - but spiders in particular are the worst, in my way of thinking. I know they do good (except for those brown recluse assholes) and
Charlotte's Web leaves an indelible impression on impressionable young minds - like mine. So, if I can, I try to usher back outside the insects and arachnids with a cup or scrap of paper. Of course, sometimes the killing cannot be avoided.
All that said, I got to see my Korean aunt this last week and after the unceremonious murder of a silver fish, she reminded me that in Korean culture, when we kill these supposed pests, we must wish them a transition into a better lot in the next life and to not return in droves to the one we are living now.

I hope it works. Especially since I have had to kill three spiders in the past two days.
